Rerose OM-20

Rerose OM-20 is used to treat conditions caused by excessive stomach acid, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), stomach and duodenal ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It effectively relieves heartburn and acid regurgitation.

The active ingredient is Omeprazole (20mg), provided in gastro-resistant capsules to ensure the medication reaches the intestines before being absorbed.

Omeprazole is a Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI). It works by blocking the enzymes in the stomach lining (proton pumps) that produce acid, thereby reducing the overall acidity in the stomach.

Gastro-resistant capsules are designed with a special coating that prevents the medication from dissolving in the harsh acidic environment of the stomach. Instead, it dissolves in the small intestine for better absorption and efficacy.

It is best taken on an empty stomach, at least 30 to 60 minutes before a meal, usually in the morning. The capsules should be swallowed whole with water and not crushed or chewed.

While some relief may be felt within a few hours, it may take 1 to 4 days for the medication to reach its full acid-blocking effect. It is not intended for immediate relief of occasional heartburn.

Common side effects may include headache, stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, or flatulence. These are usually mild and resolve on their own. Consult a doctor if they persist.

Long-term use (over a year) should be monitored by a healthcare provider, as it may increase the risk of bone fractures or low magnesium levels. Always follow the duration prescribed by your doctor.

Omeprazole should only be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding if clearly needed and specifically advised by a doctor.

Rerose OM-20 is manufactured by MK Healthcare in ISO-GMP certified facilities. It is packaged in 10x15 strips to maintain stability and protect the capsules from environmental factors like moisture and light.
